BC Hydro cancels scheduled outages due to forecasted hot weather

There are a number of power outages planned for Richmond this week

BC Hydro has cancelled repair and replacement work due to forecasted hot weather conditions this week.

The electric utility provider regularly schedules power outages to perform work on equipment or power lines that require them to be de-energized, according to its website.

“By planning the outage and doing the necessary work, our crews can prevent a potential unplanned emergency outage in the future, where a part of the system unexpectedly fails or malfunctions,” says BC Hydro's website.

These are the pre-planned outages that have been cancelled and will be rescheduled:

June 28 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. 

  • 6780 Camsel Cres.
  • 6320 to 6380 Taseko Cres.
  • 6280 Taseko Cre.

June 28 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

  • 9520, 9540 Garden City Rd

June 29 from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.

  • 8580, 8591 Rosevale Rd.
  • 10560, 10580, 10591, 10611, 10631, 10640, 10651, 10660, 10671 Rosecroft Crs.
  • 10011, 10031, 10040, 10051, 10060, 10071, 10080, 10091, 10100, 10111, 10131, 10151, 10171 Rosedene Crs.
