Richmond may experience its first snowfall of the season this weekend with up to two centimetres of snow expected to fall overnight Friday into Saturday.

Temperatures are expected to hover at or below zero until next week with clear, sunny skies expected after the light dusting of snow.

Removing snow and ice on roads is a city service and public works is readying itself for the season and this weekend.

The City of Richmond is also reminding owners of multi-family dwellings, commercial and industrial properties that their adjacent sidewalks must be cleared of snow and ice by 10 a.m. of each day.

The city clears and salts primary routes first (such as No. 3 Road in City Centre) followed by major arterials, and finally collector routes (major roads between the city's primary grid road network).
