A track issue at the Canada Line's Bridgeport Station in Richmond caused significant transit delays Friday morning.
Trains were only operating between Waterfront Station and Bridgeport, where passengers then had to transfer to a shuttle train to get to the airport or Brighouse. Around 9 a.m., trains were running between Waterfront and Brighouse, but those traveling to the airport still had to transfer at Bridgeport. Shortly before noon, the track issue was resolved and service resumed as normal.
#SkyTrain Canada Line Update: Trains now operating from Richmond-Brighouse Station to Waterfront Station and back. Customers traveling to/from YVR Airport Station will need to transfer trains at Bridgeport Station. Bus Bridge in effect from Brighouse Stn to Marine Dr Stn. ^sp

At first, trains running between from Bridgeport to YVR or Brighouse were running on different sides, then only one side of the track, causing confusion for some riders.
Can you let people at Lansdowne station know if they are on the wrong side of the platform? A lot of people were waiting on the waterfront side only to see the train for Bridgeport go by on the Richmond-Brighouse side and missed it. Thanks!

Once on the train, riders experienced significant delays at each station as well.
Our southbound train is stopping for 5-7+ min at each station. Why does a single track issue cause such an extreme delay? I'm going to be late for work and have to stay late, throwing off my entire day.

The track issues began before 7 a.m. While TransLink shared on social media soon after that the matter had been resolved, the same track issue appeared to return minutes later.

While delayed, transit riders took to social media to express their frustration.
