The Canada Post strike is affecting the city's ability to let residents know about upcoming development permit panel meetings.

The City of Richmond is reminding residents, property owners and businesses that many city notification and payment services are being impacted by the ongoing Canada Post strike.

The strike currently prevents the city from issuing public notifications by mail to residents and businesses in the surrounding area of a property subject to a Development Permit Panel (DPP) meeting.

People are encouraged to visit the Public Notices section of the city website to see if there is a development in their area.

The next DPP meeting is Wednesday, Dec. 11 at 3:30 p.m. Two properties are on the agenda:

  1. Development Permit for 9200 Cambie Rd.: A permit for the construction of a single-storey building with convenience store and restaurant use at Cambie Road near Garden City Road.
  2. Development Permit for 5300 No. 3 Rd.: The construction of a mid-rise to high-rise mixed use development of 1,075 residential dwelling units including 141 low-end market rental and 160 market rental units at 5300 No. 3 Rd. This is part of the Lansdowne redevelopment project.

Utility payments can be paid online
