A car crashed into a house near No. 1 and Francis roads early Saturday morning.

Nearby resident Glenn Stutt told the Richmond News he heard a "crushing sound" around 3:45 a.m. on Saturday, April 20 and called Richmond RCMP.

Police asked him to go out and confirm the crash and let them know what happened.

"I quickly got dressed and went out to look - I saw nothing."

He recalled seeing police cars circling by but they didn't stop, so Strutt reported back to police that he saw nothing and went back into his apartment.

About 30 minutes later, Stutt saw two fire trucks in the Safeway parking lot on No. 1 and Francis roads.

Police officers responded to the call and found a white 2005 Infiniti G35 had driven through a plaza and crashed into the rear of a residence on Youngmore Road.

"According to a witness, he observed two male occupants exit the vehicle," said Cpl. Adriana O'Malley, spokesperson for the Richmond RCMP.

"The witness advised one of the occupants was standing at a nearby bus stop and pointed him out to attending officers."

Two people with "visible injuries" were found in the area, but denied they were involved in the collision.

Further investigation found both individuals were occupants of the crashed vehicle, one of whom was the driver.

There was significant damage to both the vehicle and the home.

Investigation of the incident is still active and ongoing, according to Richmond RCMP.
