Richmond RCMP blocked off a section of Hazelbridge Way on Saturday evening due to an accident involving two vehicles.
One light-coloured Volkswagen sedan was seen smashed into a tree on the sidewalk of Hazelbridge Way near Parker Place, while another blue Toyota sedan was up on the sidewalk on the opposite side of the road.
Cones were placed on the road outside of Parker Place, and police cruisers were parked on Browngate and Leslie roads, blocking off the area.
Northbound traffic on Hazelbridge Way was backed up until Alexandra Road, while southbound traffic was backed up to Aberdeen Neighbourhood Park, past Cambie Road.
Cpl. Dennis Hwang, Richmond RCMP spokesperson, told the Richmond News parties involved in the accident were "not seriously injured" and the driver of the Toyota was sent to the hospital.
"Neither drugs or alcohol are considered factors in this collision," he added.
