University women's club hosts open house in Richmond

The Canadian Federation of University Women's (CFUW) Richmond club is hosting an open house on Monday.

All women in the Richmond community are invited to the Sept. 23 open house to network, make new friends and learn about all that the club does.

CFUW is a national organization working to improve women's status, promote equality in education, and advance human rights. It is a voluntary organization with more than 6,600 members in 94 clubs in Canada.

During the open house, there will be a presentation by the Better Business Bureau on top scams affecting the community and seniors.

Attendees can learn about what the club does, as well as about interest groups and community initiatives.

The open house event will be from 7 to 9 p.m. in room 340 in the Richmond Caring Place at 7000 Minoru Blvd.

Free parking will be available in the east lot from Granville Avenue.
