Foursquare Gospel Church, which operates in Ironwood, is asking for another three-year temporary-use permit.

A church operating in an Ironwood industrial park is hoping to extend its temporary use permit.

Foursquare Gospel Church bought the property in 2004, but it wasn’t until 2019 that the City of Richmond told them religious assembly wasn’t a permitted use at that location.

In 2022, city council granted the church a three-year temporary use permit for the property, located on No. 5 Road just south of Horseshoe Way.

They are now asking for another three-year extension.

The church stated, in a letter to the city, they’ve been working with a real estate agent to find another location since then.

Two strip malls that were suggested to them weren’t suitable as the stratas said they wouldn’t permit religious assembly due to parking and crowd issues.

Foursquare Gospel Church holds youth meetings on Friday evenings as well as church meetings on Sunday mornings.

The temporary permit request is on the agenda of an early March planning committee meeting.
