City of Richmond opens new parking lot near Bridgeport Canada Line Station

The lot has 31 spaces and costs $3 to park for the day

A new metered parking lot is now open near the Bridgeport Canada Line Station.

The parking lot – at the corner of Beckwith and Sexsmith roads – is meant to help “alleviate the need for commuter parking,” according to city spokesperson Clay Adams.

The 31-space lot opened to the public on Aug. 20 and vehicles can park for $3 from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. No other rates apply.

The lot cost the city around $45,000 to create – a cost the city expects to recoup in parking revenue within three years, Adams said.

He noted the lot is also proving popular with visitors to the nearby Richmond Night Market.

Payment options at the lot include credit card, pay by phone or pay by plate.
