Three workers were exposed to a fall risk of about 6.1 metres at a Richmond worksite, according to WorkSafeBC.

Two contractors were fined for unsafe work conditions during a framing job at a residential complex construction site in Richmond.

On April 11, WorkSafeBC imposed a fine of $5,021.44 on Feather Wood House Ltd. and K.S. Braich Construction Co. for failing to ensure fall protection was used.

A WorkSafeBC inspector had observed three workers working on a third-level open deck without a guardrail or other forms of fall protection, where they were exposed to a fall risk of about 6.1 metres.

The violation was "repeated and high-risk," reads the WorkSafeBC report.

Feather Wood House was previously fined $2,500 in December 2023 for another repeated violation of lack of fall protection on another worksite.
