A final vote on whether to move forward with public consultation on a dike plant from London Landing to Garry Point Park is expected to take place at city council Monday.

This is on the agenda for city council meeting at 7 p.m.

There is a plan to build a 3.3-kilometre-long dike for flood protection in Steveston which will encompass Shady Island.

A total of $1.2 million was spent on the preliminary flood protection plans three years ago.

Also, on the agenda is a funding approval for sanitary sewer repairs along Lancaster Crescent in the Burkeville community.

According to a city staff report, an estimated of $1 million from the Sanitary Sewer Reserve Fund will be needed for the repairs.

If approved, the Consolidated Five Year Financial Plan will need to be amended.

Meanwhile, a report on the management of feral rabbits in Richmond will be reviewed during this week's parks, recreation and cultural services committee meeting on Tuesday.

City staff stated in a report that the feral rabbit population in Richmond "will remain manageable" with the help of ongoing public education campaigns, BC SPCA collaboration and other methods.
