There has been a COVID-19 exposure at another Richmond elementary school.
Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH) sent a letter to parents and staff of Mitchell elementary on Wednesday, informing them of the exposure, which occurred on Nov. 2.
Mitchell is the fifth elementary school to report an exposure to the virus this week, following McNeely, Spul’u’kwuks, R.J. Tait and William Bridge.
According to the letter from VCH, anyone who has been identified as a close contact of the case has been notified directly by public health and asked to self-isolate for 14 days.
“If you have not received a call from public health, your risk of exposure is considered to be very low and we do not recommend that you isolate at this time,” the letter reads.
While families can continue with their normal daily activities, VCH said it will continue to monitor the situation and will “communicate any updates to our recommendations.”
