Easy access to information is more important than ever, say medical doctors at Delta Hospital throughout Fraser Health.
The Presidents’ Council of Fraser Health Medical Staff Associations has sent a letter to Dr. Victoria Lee, who is president and CEO of Fraser Health, as well as provincial medical health officer Dr. Bonnie Henry, expressing gratitude and confidence in actions taken so far in what they’re describing as an unprecedented time of volatility during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Noting that as the pandemic continues, and the growth of their knowledge base accelerates, the letter signed by over a dozen medical staff association representatives, including Delta’s Dr. Robert Shaw, states that in order to be nimbly responsive in their ability to make changes in their models of care, two-way communication streams will be all-important.
“We appreciate the efforts of the Emergency Operation Centre, your virtual town hall meetings and daily CEO and Provincial updates. Easy access to a central repository of information is important as we are bombarded by information from within and without the Authority,” they state.
“As future questions arise from our healthcare colleagues, the MSAs will continue to serve as a conduit to bring these important issues to you. The opportunity to work closely together further enhances the relationships between us. Although recent data from the Provincial Health Office has given us a hint of brighter days ahead, we are preparing for the burden of care to increase in the short and long term.”
The letter goes on to say that, now more than ever, they must stand united and aligned for the pandemic battle.
