A man charged for killing a Richmond woman in a fatal collision four years ago is set to be sentenced in June after much delay.

A new sentencing date was fixed Monday in Richmond Provincial Court for Sundeep Singh Mann, who was originally set to be sentenced last December.

Shortly after midnight on Sept. 2, 2020, Mann hit a northbound vehicle head-on when his southbound vehicle crossed the centre line in the George Massey Tunnel.

The 61-year-old Richmond woman driving the northbound vehicle passed away and her passenger was sent to the hospital with serious injuries.

Mann originally faced charges that included impaired and dangerous driving but he pleaded guilty last summer to one count of dangerous operation causing death and one count of dangerous operation causing bodily harm.

His sentencing hearing was originally set to be adjourned to Feb. 23 but has now been pushed to June 28.
