Power has been out since 2:45 a.m. for most of east Richmond including Hamilton.

More than 1,500 east Richmond BC Hydro customers are without power on Saturday morning.

A motor vehicle incident is the cause of the outage that is affecting 1,913 people north of Highway 91, east of No. 6 Road, west of Boundary Road and south of Marine Way.

Another 536 BC Hydro customers in the area west of Highway 91, east of No. 6 Road, south of River Road and north of Blundell Road are also impacted.

A crew is on site, and power is expected to return around 3 p.m.
