The ad at the gas station read, “Anyone can win, and you could be next.”
That “anyone” was Surrey fashion designer Christian Buron who was, for sure, the “next,” after scooping $675,000 in BCLC’s Set For Life scratch card game.
And the first big purchase Buron is going to make is a house to call his own for him and his family.
Winner buys ticket after seeing gas station ad
He bought the card from Food Folks on 176A Street in Surrey and was filling up with gas when he saw the aforementioned poster ad about winning the lottery.
Buron said he looked at the ad and thought “that could be me one day and it finally happened.”
He said he scanned his ticket at home after work one night, with the Lotto! app.
“I scratched it and scanned it right away and saw I won. My first thought was getting a house.”
So far, Buron has only shared the news with his wife.
Wife thought it was a joke
“She thought I was joking at first and made me call BCLC right away,” he said.
Buron said he plans to celebrate his win over a nice family dinner and wants to take the kids out to do something fun.
