On Thursday morning, five gas stations in Richmond were charging a collossal 214.9 cents a litre for regular gas.
It was the biggest one-day spike - from 211.9 yesterday - since the prices started to soar two weeks ago, when Russia began its invasion of Ukraine, throwing the global economy into chaos.
In the last 14 days or so, the price of regular has now spiralled an incredible 45 cents from around 170 cents a litre for regular.

The cheapest gas in Richmond, according to GasBuddy.com, continues to be found at Super Save at Westminster Highway and No. 5 Road, where it was still holding Thursday morning at 207.9 cents a litre for regular.

All other stations, according to GasBuddy.com on Thursday morning, were charging 209.9.
Will gas prices go back down in B.C.?
GasWizard is predicting, however, that those prices may drop as much as 15 cents by Friday to an average price of $1.99 per litre of regular gasoline.
There are numerous factors that contribute to gasoline prices, and the price of oil is what has been driving the latest record-breaking surge in gasoline prices in North America.
Gasoline prices are up everywhere, but are particularly high on the West Coast, in B.C. and California, which are experiencing record-breaking gasoline prices.
