Hong Kong-style dessert, snack shop coming to Richmond

Mahjong-themed dessert anyone?

A popular Vancouver-based Hong Kong dessert and snack shop is coming to Richmond.

Snackshot, which already has two Metro Vancouver locations, is opening a Richmond outpost in Continental Shopping Centre near Cambie and Sexsmith roads.

The shop is taking over the former K2 hair salon and Snackshot already has its iconic neon sign hanging from the window.

The Hong Kong-style spot opened its first location on Granville Street in the Marpole neighbourhood in 2017, before opening a second on Kingsway, near Boundary Road, in 2021.

Snackshot is best known for its mahjong-themed coconut pudding and edible money dessert set as well as its tofu pudding, dessert soups and traditional Hong Kong drinks.

Its menu also includes Hong Kong-style street snacks like curry fish balls, fried shrimp balls, rice rolls and even duck spring rolls.

An opening date hasn't been announced yet.
