What do you want new parks and greenspaces to look like as Lansdowne Shopping Centre is redeveloped?
The City of Richmond is asking for public feedback for its Lansdowne Parks and Open Space Master Plan. This feedback will “guide the detailed design and implementation of the future parks and open spaces,” the city said in a press release.
These greenspaces will be created over several years, as the property is redeveloped in phases.
Vanprop, which owns the 50-acre property, plans to build up to 4,000 residential units on the site as well as retail. So far, one section on the northeast end of the property is moving forward.
Input is being sought on concept master plan options, programming priorities and general park character that will contribute to the development of the master plan.
Feedback gathered from the community during the public engagement process will help shape the development of the plan, which will be presented to city council for consideration, the city said.
Upon receipt of city council support, the plan will guide the future detailed design and implementation of these public park spaces.
There are several in-person and online opportunities for the public to participate until Sunday, April 13.
