An up-and-coming South Korean R&B singer will be coming to Vancouver next month on the last leg of his North America tour.
Jae-Min Kim, who goes by GEMINI, will kick off his Still Blue tour in Toronto on March 16. He will make a total of 10 stops on his tour including New York City, Chicago, Los Angeles and Vancouver, B.C.
“I’ve dreamt of going on tour for a long time, so I’m delighted to have this opportunity,” Kim told the Richmond News.
Kim made his debut in the Korean music scene in 2020 through H1GHR: BLUE TAPE, a compilation album featuring popular artists such as Jay Park, pH-1 and BIG Naughty. He then released his first single, Going, in the same year.
The name GEMINI was inspired by Kim’s zodiac sign and his desire to showcase his duality through music.
Although he performed in Europe with his labelmates last year, the upcoming North American tour will be his first solo tour showcasing his own music and visions.
Kim, who has more than 1.3 million monthly listeners on Spotify, said his music aims to “offer comfort (to listeners).”
The tour is based on Kim’s latest EP Still Blue and will feature cool and calm performances much like its name. He will also be joined by DJ Fallens, a close friend and collaborator.
Another first for Kim’s North American tour is that it will be his first time stepping on the continent, and he’s most excited to try outdoor barbecues. The performer, who was in Calvin Klein’s recent Fall Winter APAC campaign, is also excited to check out local fashion powerhouses such as Amiri in Los Angeles.
Kim will be wrapping up his tour in Vancouver on March 27, when he will get to meet local fans for the first time.
“(The Vancouver show) will be quite special since it’s the last (stop),” he said.
Tickets for GEMINI’s Vancouver show range from general admission at $35 to the VIP Meet & Greet experience at $130 plus fees. For more information and to purchase tickets, click here.
