More Richmond schools have been flagged for COVID-19 exposures by Vancouver Coastal Health.
McNair secondary and Burnett secondary have both been added to the health authority’s online list of school exposures.
The potential exposure dates at those schools are:
- McNair: Nov. 19 and Nov. 24 to 27
- Burnett: Nov. 24 to 26
Meanwhile, the potential exposure dates at Richmond Secondary – which was added to the list earlier this week – have been expanded by two days.
VCH now says that an exposure to the virus could have occurred at that school on Nov. 24 to 27.
A school "exposure" is when someone with the virus was at the school during their infectious period, according to VCH's website, which adds that, "in the vast majority of cases, there is no transmission in the school setting."
The health authority will post possible school exposures on its website when they feel that everyone who might have been exposed to the virus couldn’t be contacted directly.
There have also been exposures recently at Hugh Boyd secondary (Nov. 25 to 26); Steveston-London secondary (Nov. 24 to 26); Tait elementary (Nov. 18 to 19 and Nov. 23 to 24); Az-Zahraa Islamic Academy (Nov. 25 to 26); McMath secondary (Nov. 12 to 13 and Nov. 16 to 18); DeBeck elementary (Nov. 17 to 19); Palmer secondary (Nov. 17 to 18 and Nov. 20); Ferris elementary (Nov. 20).
