Someone in the Lower Mainland has in their pocket a Lotto ticket worth $18.7 million.

The winning ticket for the Wednesday, April 6 Lotto 6/49 jackpot draw was bought in Surrey, after the six winning numbers 2, 8, 9, 16, 39, and 49 were matched.

The jackpot wasn’t the only big win in the province last night, someone in the Penticton region won the $1 million Guaranteed Prize draw and a ticket purchased in Langley matched five out of six numbers plus the bonus to win more than $58,000.

It’s the third time in the past five weeks a ticket purchased in the Lower Mainland has landed the jackpot.

John and Travis Bonner bought a winning ticket from the March 9 Lotto 6/49 draw, to net $8 million, and Chau Ming Leung and her husband Yiu Fai Leung landed $6 million from the March 16 draw.

All lottery prize winners have 52 weeks from the draw date printed on their ticket to come forward to claim their prize.

The specific retail location where the winning lottery ticket was purchased, and the lottery winners’ name(s) will be announced after the winner has come forward to claim their prize.
