The entire province if B.C. will continue to bake in record-breaking temperatures today and Richmond is no exception.

Although not as intense as areas of the Fraser Valley – where the mercury is expected to rise to at least 43C – Environment Canada is forecasting the temperature to hit 34C by 7 p.m. at YVR, usually the coolest spot in the Lower Mainland.

As such, Environment Canada’s heat warning is still in effect, although there is some light relief on the way Tuesday, when the heat is expected to subside about 10C across the province.

That trend is forecast to continue through to the end of the week, with seaside temperatures in the low to mid-20s at the airport.
