Young artists across British Columbia are invited to participate in the Richmond Chinese Community Society’s (RCCS) children’s drawing contest.
In celebration of Mid-Autumn Festival, participants are encouraged to depict the vibrant spirit of this occasion with their creativity.
The full moon, lanterns and family gatherings are a few examples of some interpretations.
Participants will be separated in two groups: The senior group, made up of B.C. residents aged 12 to 18, and the junior group, those younger than 12.
There will be a first, second, third, and an awards of merit prize for each.
Artworks must not exceed 17 x 11 inches and must be two-dimensional. Any safe drawing materials and methods are accepted.
Drawings can be delivered to the RCCS office from Monday to Friday between 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. or mailed to 205-8271 Westminster Highway Richmond, B.C., V6X 1A7.
Submissions must include the contestant’s name, age, guardian’s name, phone number and email address on the back of the art piece.
The deadline for submissions is Aug. 31.
Winners will be notified directly and the prize ceremony will be held at the Mid-Autumn Festival on Sept. 21 from 12 to 4:30 p.m. at Lansdowne Mall.
