Two more pedestrians are in hospital after separate collisions with cars over the last few days.

Just after 6:30 p.m. on Monday, a man crossing McNeely Drive at No. 5 Road was struck by a vehicle turning left onto No. 5 Road.

He was found lying on the road, close to a marked and lit crosswalk, before being taken to hospital.

The extent of his injuries were not known as the News went to press, but the incident is still under investigation and Richmond RCMP said that speed and alcohol are not factors.

Local residents have been complaining for a long time about speeding drivers on that stretch of No. 5 Road.

Meanwhile, on Friday afternoon, Richmond RCMP attended the scene of the serious accident just before 3:30 p.m. at the 8600 block of Lansdowne Road.

An elderly man was rushed to hospital and the area remained closed while collision analysts investigated the incident. The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and cooperated with police.

Both accidents come after a number of similar incidents recently and several police warnings to take extra care.
