Richmond RCMP arrested two suspects on May 22.

The arrest of two suspects in Richmond resulted in more than $7,500 of stolen items found.

Richmond RCMP responded to a report of "suspicious activity" around 11:30 a.m. on May 22 when two men wearing black balaclavas were seen running from Richmond Centre.

Front-line officers, including the RCMP Bike Patrol Unit, were told the suspects were headed towards a nearby park where they searched and caught one suspect.

The second suspect tried to run away but was found after a brief pursuit.

One of the suspects was also arrested on two outstanding warrants for unrelated matters, one of which was for theft under $5,000.

"We urge retailers and the public to continue reporting suspicious activities, as timely information is critical in helping us maintain a secure environment for everyone," said Staff Sgt. Paula Mann with the Richmond RCMP.
