New Westminster Secondary School is on time and on budget, according to Karim Hachlaf, the school district superintendent.
“I’m thrilled to say that we continue to be on schedule. What that means is we’ll be opening the doors to the newest school in the province for September 2020 for the secondary students of New Westminster,” he told the Record.
Currently, the contractors are working on the exterior cladding of the building as well as the interior finishes, according to Hachlaf. The finishes include drywalling, electrical, HVAC, lighting and painting.
The writable wall surfaces in each classroom are also being painted, Hachlaf said.
“We will actually begin to move in with large equipment and so on and so forth in the springtime,” he added.
