Visitors to Richmond Centre on Friday afternoon got a stinging surprise from youths allegedly using pepper spray in a fight.
According to Richmond RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Dennis Hwang, police responded to reports of a group of youths being involved in an altercation shortly after 4 p.m. on Dec. 30.
Pepper spray was believed to have been discharged when the fight escalated.
"The youths fled prior to police arrival but a number of mall patrons and staff were cross contaminated by the spray," said Hwang.
Police are currently investigating the incident, and those with information are urged to contact Richmond RCMP at 604-278-1212 and quote file #2022-36024.
