Last week the Richmond News published a couple of photos from the 1950s of a quirky sale at the Red & White Grocery Store on No. 3 Road at Granville Avenue.
And the response from readers was so great – along with requests for more old photos – that we dug into the City of Richmond archives to find one more.
This one, taken in 1958, shows Red & White’s neighbours, Richmond Hardware, which was apparently the “headquarters for Bapco Prints.”
Last week’s photos showed Red & White’s owners and staff dressed up for a “gay ‘90s” sale, which was a tribute to an apparently decadent decade in the late 19th century.
