The Richmond News reported earlier this week how an alleged foreign police station was a major concern for Richmond and Canada, according to a local councillor.

We polled 558 Richmond News readers and asked the question: Do you believe the Chinese government has influence over politicians in Canada?

The poll ran from 12/12/2022 to 12/16/2022. Of the 558 votes, we can determine that 168 are from within the community. The full results are as follows:

Yes 80.95 % local, 80.82 % total
No 11.31 % local, 10.93 % total
Not sure 7.74 % local, 8.24 % total

Results are based on an online study of adult Richmond News readers that are located in Richmond. The margin of error - which measures sample variability - is +/- 4.14%, 19 times out of 20.
