City council 's meeting got heated Monday night, culminating in the arrest of a Richmond resident.
Roland Hoegler was making a presentation to council about the city's environmentally sensitive area when he claims he got frustrated by Mayor Malcolm Brodie's interuptions.
When Hoegler started shouting, two Mounties, who were already at the meeting, asked to escort him out of chambers.
When he refused, he was dragged outside and arrested.
The RCMP confirmed the city had asked them to be present because of interruptions by a particular Richmond resident during previous meetings, and that the resident was arrested.
Police are recommending charges of causing a disturbance and obstruction to the Crown.
