A pizza and pasta restaurant in Richmond will be closed as of Monday.
The Boston Pizza restaurant at Ackroyd and No. 3 roads will be saying its final goodbye on Feb. 28.
"Boston Pizza is grateful to have served the Richmond, BC community for over 20 years," reads a notice posted on the restaurant's door.
"Unfortunately, as of February 28th, 2021, we will be permanently closing the doors of this location."
According to a statement from Boston Pizza International Inc., the location is closing due uncertain property plans.
"After over 20 years of serving the Richmond community in this location, the Boston Pizza restaurant ... is set to close at the end of February, 2021 when the current lease expires due to uncertainty around the land owner's future plans for the property," reads the statement.
It added that Richmond's other Boston Pizza location in Ironwood Plaza is still open and running.
Many have taken to social media saying they are not surprised it is closing down, while some regulars who frequent the pasta restaurant says its "too bad" the location has to close.
"Contrary to a couple other posts, I have always had great service. Food has almost always been fresh and well prepared. Had no idea it was closing," reads a Facebook comment.
Others shared that they are "sad to see another business close down" during the COVID-19 pandemic as well as their thoughts on workers who will be losing their jobs.
