A motor vehicle accident is causing a power outage for more than 200 BC Hydro customers in the Bridgeport area.
According to BC Hydro, the outage is affecting 270 customers in the area east of No. 6 Road, south of River Road, north of Cambie Road and west of No. 7 Road.
The outage happened around 8:30 a.m.
Westbound traffic on River Road is backed up past No. 7 Road with traffic being detoured onto No. 7 Road southbound.
Traffic is heavy on northbound No. 6 Road from Vulcan Way to Bridgeport Road while eastbound traffic on Vulcan Way is backed up to and onto Viking Way.
BC Hydro estimates power will return around 5 p.m.
