Richmond COVID-19 cases show gradual upward climb

The Cambie/Bridgeport area had an uptick in COVID-19 cases last week, according to data released from the BC Centre for Disease Control (BCCDC), while overall Richmond numbers were up slightly as well.

There were 41 new cases in Richmond between Oct. 31 and Nov. 6, up from 37 in the previously reported week and 29 the week before.

The BCCDC data shows the East/West Cambie Bridgeport area had nine cases per 100,000 residents, while Steveston, Broadmoor, Thompson/Seafair and City Centre only had two cases per 100,000 residents.

Daily case rates of COVID-19 across the province continue in the 500-range. On Wednesday, the province reported 555 new cases of COVID-19 with 404 people in hospital, of which 117 were in intensive care.
