Richmond drivers asked to check dashcams after serious accident

Richmond drivers are being asked to check their dashcam footage after a serious accident at a busy intersection on the weekend.

According to Richmond RCMP, shortly after 3 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 4, officers were called to the area of Minoru Boulevard and Lansdowne Road after receiving reports of a collision between a Ford subcompact and a Jeep SUV.

The driver of the Ford, an 85-year old man from Richmond was uninjured.

However, the driver of the Jeep, a 62-year old man from Richmond, sustained serious injuries and was unconscious prior to being taken to hospital. Each vehicle had a passenger, but both were uninjured.

Alcohol is not believed to be a contributing factor, but police are asking the community for any information or dashcam footage that may available for this incident and are asked to contact us at 604-278-1212. Please quote file# 2022-33375.
