Richmond Hospital Foundation golf tournament raises $270,000

More than 100 golfers and around 200 diners managed to raise the incredible sum for life-saving equipment at the hospital

An incredible $270,000 was raised for the Richmond Hospital Foundation at its annual golf tournament and dinner at Richmond Golf and Country Club.

Fighting a freakish gale-force wind, a packed golf course enjoyed otherwise glorious playing conditions, with every hole bedecked with a sponsor.

The event, presented for the first time by Gulf & Fraser, is one of the foundation’s signature fundraisers.

Once all the golf was played, an evening reception on the clubhouse balcony was followed by a dinner and auction, hosted by celebrity Fred Lee for more than 200 guests.

The after-dinner fun included “Fund-a-Need,” which was focused on the lifesaving equipment for Richmond Hospital Emergency Department’s Code Blue Team.
