Richmond residents and boaters can learn how the Marine Search and Rescue system works at an info session this month.
Royal Canadian Marine Search and Rescue (RCMSAR) is hosting a free public event on May 15 at the Steveston Community Centre ahead of this year's recreational boating season.
Organizers and volunteers from RCMSAR will provide information about how the marine search and rescue system works.
They will also share information about the roles of different organizations, including the Canadian Coast Guard Hovercraft Unit, the Transportation Safety Board, the Vancouver Fraser Authority and a traffic service.
The information session will take place from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the Steveston Community Centre, 4111 Moncton St.
