The 2009 Richmond Islanders capped their season with a memorable provincial title in Kelowna last week.
The girls beat hosts Kelowna 6-4 in the final to clinch the U13 BC Softball title.
The win sealed six months of pre-season training, before they hit the road in April, playing many games and tournaments.
Leading up to provincials, the Islanders won three tournaments in Surrey, Richmond and Vancouver, as well as the provincial qualifiers in June.
The Islanders finished the season with an impressive 48-2-1 record and first place in the province.
The team includes Adelise Cyr, Nava David, Lexi Howitt, Emily Hsieh, Adrianna Jeske, Dani Kay, Parker Maude, Quinn Michaud, Katie Nevins, Sienna Parker, Eva Raskob, Sofia Sekhon and Doris Zhang. The coaching staff include Mark David (head coach), Adam Cyr and Navi Sekhon (assistant).
