The Richmond Jets U21 A1 team won the provincial title over the weekend, beating Victoria 2-1 in a best-of-three final series.
The Jets entered the banner weekend with an overall record of 26-2-3, but had a rough start Saturday evening, dropping the first game with a score of 4-3 in a nail-biting finish.
However, the Jets bounced back the next morning and evened the series with a commanding 8-1 victory.
Game three started off exactly how game one did with the Jets going down 3-0 early heading into the 1st intermission.
The Jets came roaring back in the second period, via a quick goal, and they rallied and dominated much of the second and third periods, sending them into a two-goal lead as the clock ticked down.
Victoria went on the power play with three minutes remaining and pulled their goalie, but it wasn’t enough as the Jets scored an empty-netter to make the final score 6-3.
