The Richmond Public Library is getting $700,000 to modernize technology and offer better programs and services, the province announced Friday.
This is a one-time grant to libraries across the province, for a total of $45 million in provincial funding.
The City of Richmond has budgeted almost $11 million in 2023 for its library system, which is the bulk of their funding.
According to the province, use of digital resources has increased in B.C. by 47 per cent since 2019.
In 2021, library users accessed digital resources almost 16 million times across the province.
