Heling Huang said she is very excited and still can’t believe she’s won.
Huang told reporters Tuesday, via an interpreter, that this win means she will be able to focus on spending time with her family.
The winning ticket was purchased Saturday at the Lottery Ticket Centre in Richmond Centre.
Earlier in the day Tuesday, it was revealed that a Lotto 6/49 ticket worth $9.5 million had been purchased in Richmond on July 8. However, the ticket holder had yet to come forward. Their identity, along with the specific retail location where the lucky ticket was purchased, was only announced after the winner had come forward to claim the prize.
The single ticket was the only one in Canada to match all six numbers in the draw.
