Richmondites curious about traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) and acupuncture will get to experience them while supporting a good cause this Sunday.
The 11th annual Traditional Chinese Medicine & Acupuncture Wellness Day will take place at Aberdeen Centre and feature more than 10 registered TCM practitioners.
The event, organized by the National Traditional Chinese Medicine Association of Canada, will offer services including acupuncture, cupping and "Tui Na" massage therapy for a suggested minimum donation of $30.
All proceeds will benefit the Richmond Centre for Disability.
The Richmond News reported last week that the city is seeing a growing demand for TCM.
More than 30 clinics can be found in Richmond, making it the Lower Mainland city with the highest concentration of such clinics.
Kwantlen Polytechnic University, which offers a TCM program at its Richmond campus, is also seeing a growing number of applicants.
The Traditional Chinese Medicine & Acupuncture Wellness Day will take place at Aberdeen Centre's central atrium on Oct. 8 from 12 to 5 p.m.
