The remains of a body found in a burned-out car in Vancouver on the weekend have been identified as a 23-year-old Richmond man.
The Vancouver Police Department (VPD) have launched a murder investigation after Matthew Johnathan Hall was found last Saturday night as firefighters put out a car fire on Carolina Street just off Terminal Avenue.
Hall was known to police, say the VPD, which believes the killing was targeted.
The case is now being treated as Vancouver's ninth homicide of the year.
