A Richmond man is currently facing sex offence charges related to an underage person.
According to records at Richmond Provincial Court, the man's charges include possessing child pornography and transmitting, distributing, selling, advertising, importing or exporting child pornography.
He was also charged with sexual interference of a person under 16 years old and sexually assaulting the same person.
The man is not named in this story due to a publication ban protecting the identity of the victim and witness.
The alleged incidents took place in Richmond between May 2018 and June 2021 and the charges were laid on Dec. 11, 2023.
The man was released on bail on Dec. 20 with conditions including prohibition from attending any places and communicating with persons under 18 years of age and possessing any devices capable of recording images.
He was also required to surrender all of his travel documents.
The man is scheduled to return to Richmond Provincial Court on Feb. 9 for a hearing about an application.
