Kelly Greene, MLA for Richmond-Steveston, has been named to cabinet.

Richmond-Steveston MLA Kelly Greene, who was re-elected in the Oct. 19 provincial election, has been named as B.C.'s Minister of Emergency Management and Climate Readiness.

Premier David Eby announced his cabinet on Monday, including Greene's appointment, with several changes to portfolios.

Greene was first elected to the B.C. legislature in 2020, and she is currently serving her second term. Before this fall's election, she was the parliamentary secretary for Fisheries and Aquaculture.

Greene was the only BC NDP MLA to be re-elected in Richmond.

Aman Singh lost his seat in Richmond-Queensborough to the BC Conservative candidate Steve Kooner and Henry Yao lost his to another Conservative, Hon Chan.

Teresa Wat held onto her seat in Richmond-Bridgeport.

Greene replaces North Vancouver-Lonsdale MLA Bowinn Ma who held the portfolio prior to the election. Ma is the new Minister of Infrastructure.
