As one of B.C.’s most iconic events, the Richmond Night Market, will return a bit earlier than usual this year.

The event organizer said they are slated to open its doors to the public on April 29 - according to a video posted on the market’s Instagram account – about a month earlier than normal.

Earlier this month, the market opened its vendor registration by posting on its Facebook page to ask business owners to join them.

Raymond Cheung, owner and founder of the night market, said more details would be announced next week.

The market reopened last summer with a reduced capacity and smaller venue after a 16-month closure due to COVID-19.

The outdoor event used to run from early May to October and drew thousands of people across the province in pre-pandemic times.
