Richmond RCMP is investigating a “suspicious circumstance” that occurred at Richmond’s Extreme Air Park earlier this week.

According to police, a parent in a monitoring room observed a man “allegedly pulling down a young child’s pants” during a dark, laser tag game at the local business.

The alleged incident happened on March 14 between 4:45 and 5:15 p.m.

The complainant reported their observation to a staff member, who immediately turned on the lights and attended the area.

However, staff did not see anything suspicious.

Cpl. Adriana O’Malley, media spokesperson for the Richmond RCMP, said the complainant could not give a detailed description of those involved because it “was dark and there were lasers operating.”

“The complainant viewed the incident through a television, which cycles through surveillance from various cameras located throughout the business,” said O’Malley.

“This is a very serious allegation and we are doing everything we can to attempt to identify those involved.”

O’Malley told the Richmond News in an email that an “initial review” of the video surveillance where the incident occurred was done, but “nothing suspicious was observed.”

The investigation, she added, is active and ongoing, and Richmond RCMP is continuing to liaise with the complainant.

The business is also “fully cooperating” with the police and providing evidence that could help with the investigation, said O’Malley.

The Richmond News has reached out to the business for comment but did not hear back by press time.
