Richmond RCMP are seeking the public's help to identify a man who allegedly attempted to rob a woman earlier this year.
The alleged robbery attempt took place shortly after midnight on Jul. 7 on Ackroyd Road near PriceSmart Foods, according to Richmond RCMP spokesperson Adriana O'Malley.
"The complainant alleged that a man with a firearm had attempted to rob his girlfriend," said O'Malley.
She added police were told the complainant tried to stop the suspect from leaving and disarmed the suspect during the subsequent struggle, but the suspect later left on foot.
The complainant and victim were not injured.
The suspect is described as a Black male wearing a grey hoodie, yellow balaclava mask and grey pants and his photo was published by Richmond RCMP on Dec. 28.
