A two-vehicle collision in Richmond has one driver still in the hospital.

Richmond RCMP is asking for witnesses or anyone with video of a two-car crash in August to come forward.

Police responded to the accident at Westminster Highway and McCallan Road around 10:30 p.m. on Aug. 26.

A witness said he was driving westbound on Westminster Highway when a blue Honda Accord allegedly sped past him.

The Honda then hit a blue Mazda 3 that was making a left-hand turn onto McCallan Road.

"As a result of the impact, both vehicles left the roadway and came to rest in the front yards of two residences," said Cpl. Adriana O'Malley.

"Both drivers were transported to local area hospitals for treatment. One driver remains in hospital with significant injuries."

One driver was arrested and released on a police undertaking, with speed and impairment being investigated as factors.

The Richmond Criminal Collision Investigation Team is investigating the incident.

Anyone in the area who may have witnessed it or have dash cam footage is asked to contact Richmond RCMP and quote file number 2024-27143.
