Traffic delays will occur with road paving scheduled in Richmond city centre.

Asphalt paving near Richmond Public Library will cause some traffic delays starting next week.

Paving along Minoru Boulevard between Westminster Highway and Granville Avenue is scheduled for July 23 to 30 between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. daily.

There may be traffic restrictions or temporary lane closures during the construction period, according to a notice posted on Richmond Public Library's Brighouse branch's door.

There will be sidewalk closures during the work and traffic control workers will help direct pedestrians and those with wheelchairs.

No parking will be allowed along Minoru Boulevard during construction.

Garbage and recycling pick-up for residents in the area will not be affected.

"We are aware of the inconvenience caused by our activity and apologize in advance," reads the notice.

"Rest assured that we will do everything possible to minimize the impact of our activities on your neighbourhood."

Any concerns or questions regarding the work or accessibility needs can be directed to the Darren Champ, site superintendent of Blackrete Paving Ltd., at 604-341-0584.
